Thoughts: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Introduction: Spider-Verse is a masterful understanding of a medium and its capabilities, with an excellent bond that pays homage to the core of Spidermen and respects the source material. Spider-Verse has garnered widespread acclaim, but I believe I can offer a different perspective on the story and share my thoughts on this masterpiece as a devoted fan of the source material and its beliefs. To truly appreciate why Spider-Verse is a sensational tribute to the source material and an exceptional upgrade, we must first understand the essence of the source material and its underlying beliefs. So, let's dive into it one last time.
The Core of Spider-Man: The essence of Spider-Man lies in the connections between people; it is a matter of responsibility. It all begins with the iconic line, "Great power comes with great responsibility. Spider-Man is our friendly neighborhood hero due to his human side. He has bills to pay, loved ones to remember, and family members to satisfy. Most importantly, he always bears the weight of responsibility because of the powers he possesses. This quote resonates with all of us, just like in the movie, where "We can all wear the Mask" because each of us possesses abilities and sparks that can be used for the betterment of this world. However, this comes with responsibility and sacrifices to realize our potential. It sometimes means breaking our lover's heart or sacrificing our comfort for the greater good. At its most extreme, it means being unable to protect our loved ones for the sake of the many. The core of Spider-Man teaches us that we should not be more selfish than our potential, as the world and the lives of many are more important than our own. We must embrace pain and make sacrifices to fulfill our potential.
But Spider-Verse adds two more layers to the core of Spider-Man, which are uniquely embodied by our main character, Miles Morales.
The Aspect of Miles Morales: What sets Miles apart from other versions of Spider-Man, particularly in most stories, is his reluctance to be special. He doesn't aspire to attend a school for gifted individuals; instead, he longs for his old school, with its familiar faces and safe spaces that he cherishes. In the beginning, the movie delves into this theme extensively, as Miles seeks to escape his potential, feeling like an outsider in his new school. We can all relate to this feeling during our journey to fulfill our potential, as it can lead us to places where we feel like outsiders. However, as Uncle Ben wisely said, "Great power comes with great responsibility." This is the first layer that Spider-Verse adds to the classic Spider-Man structure. The second layer is a bit more complex and reflects a crucial mistake that many of us make in our lives.
In the middle of the movie, Miles attempts to live up to the promises he made to the deceased Peter Parker from his universe and become Spider-Man. However, he fails repeatedly, as he is trying to be something or fulfill his potential based on someone else's desires. This concept is explored in the movie when everyone leaves Miles to himself, without any external pressure. It is at this moment that he discovers his own leap of faith and unleashes his potential. In our lives, we cannot fulfill our potential based on someone else's wishes. As individuals, we must find our own leap of faith and ignite our potential. This is the final layer that Spider-Verse adds to the classic Spider-Man structure.
Conclusion: Spider-Man as a work of art and the values that it represents are valuable to me. Spider-Verse treats these values not as mere garbage or untouchable presets; in fact, it embodies and upgrades them in every aspect of the story and animation, All writers and animators are aware of the great power and the great responsibility of Spiderman and they just not remunerate the work also upgrade with every aspect. There is nothing to say negatively about this work just praises and many thanks to everyone involves with this piece of art.
With this review of mine, we are moving to the review latest release Spider-man: Across the Spider-verses review, where they upgrade the concepts of being a outsider on the road to fulfillment of our potential with better animations and art direction with a clifhanger ending that hypes to the climax final movie.
